Reducing Phone Bill Costs for Non profits

If you have a favorite non-profit – whether you work, volunteer, provide financial support, or even if you do business with one, keep reading, because you can help them save money!

Non-profit organizations do an excellent job of maximizing donations by keeping operational costs down in order to spend the most possible on serving their clients. One Executive of a small non-profit told me they actually make it a point to collect  free post it notes and pens from other companies to reduce their yearly office supply expenses. Another told me they go over every bill they pay to make sure they are not being overcharged.

Yet when I ask them about whether they do a yearly phone and internet bill review I almost  always hear “no we just pay that” or “We have a contract with ____ carrier and we just pay the bill they send us every month”  This means that organizations looking to squeeze every penny out of yearly office supply expenditures will happily fork over thousands of dollars yearly for phone and internet charges without questioning those charges or looking into alternatives that could save them much more than untold packages of pens, staples, and post-it notes.

Doesn’t make sense, right?

The fact is that over the course of a year rates change a lot in the overall phone and internet service landscape, and for an organization that is trying to financially operate as leanly as possible to not review this expense annually is to be potentially over spending hundreds and in most cases thousands of dollars.

We have found that in 80% of the phone and internet bills that we review in both the profit and non-profit sectors there are significant savings to be found, not onlyt with no reduction in services, but in many cases with an upgrade in services!

So check and see if the nonprofit that you care about has done a review of their charges for phone and internet services. If they haven’t – as we have found most times is the case – please encourage them to do so.  Companies like ours will do the review at no charge so they have all to gain by it, and nothing to lose.  It’s an “win-win” scenario you just can’t beat!
